A 60-year-old man fatally shot his estranged wife before taking his own life Thursday morning at a Bradenton home, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
Police identified the couple as Phillip Edmond McClure, 60, and Brenda Gail McClure, 74, in an afternoon update Oct. 22.

Based on the initial investigation, detectives believe Phillip McClure waited for other household members to leave before entering the home and shooting Brenda McClure, then himself, police said.
Officers responded to a reported shooting at 7:59 a.m. in the 1500 block of 19th Street West, in a residential area west of LECOM Park. They found the couple dead.
Police initially described the deaths as an apparent murder-suicide and identified the two as an estranged married
couple.
The investigation is ongoing.
