A 50-year-old man and teenager who were being “disrespectful” toward each other on a Florida golf course and arguing about the 15-year-old’s golf pace resulted in the man facing child abuse charges, sheriff officials said.
Rhett Drummond, 50, was arrested Aug. 22 after authorities said he crashed his golf cart into the teen’s golf cart, pulled the teen by the shirt and slapped him. The interaction took place at Lansbrook Golf Club in Palm Harbor near Tampa, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
The unidentified teen told deputies the two argued and then parted ways. Later, the teen said he attempted to drive his golf cart away when Drummond came back and approached him.
That’s when Drummond pulled the teen off his golf cart and slapped
him, according to an arrest report. The teen ended up with a bloody nose and redness around his neck, the report stated.

Drummond, of Tampa, is facing a felony child abuse charge.
He posted a $500 bond and was released from Jail Aug. 24. He has entered a plea of not guilty.
