An estranged married couple was found dead Thursday morning in an apparent murder-suicide in Bradenton, police said.

Bradenton Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1500 block of 19th Street West, in a residential area west of LECOM Park, at 7:59 a.m. Oct. 22.

The first officers arrived two minutes later and found a man and a woman dead, according to a department news release.

Police described the two as an estranged married couple.

The department did not release their names or say who investigators believe fired the shots.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police said they would release additional information when appropriate.
