A man died Monday evening after being pulled from the water along Benjamin Franklin Drive near Lido Beach in Sarasota, police said.
Sarasota police officers responded shortly before 7 p.m. Aug. 24 to the 400 block of Benjamin Franklin Drive.

Bystanders pulled the man to shore, where Sarasota County emergency personnel pronounced him dead.
Police did not release the man’s name or provide additional details about where the drowning occurred or what led to it.
Detectives do not believe foul play was involved. The investigation remains ongoing.
