Sarasota County health officials have lifted the water quality advisory for Brohard Beach in Venice after new tests showed bacteria levels within state guidelines.
The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County said tests completed Sept. 11 found acceptable levels of Enterococcus bacteria at the beach, located at 1805 Harbor Drive South.
The department issued the advisory Sept. 11 after tests completed Sept. 7 showed bacteria levels exceeding state recreational water quality guidelines.
Officials had advised against swimming and other water-related activities because of an increased risk of illness.
The latest results prompted the department to lift that warning.
