Visitors to Sarasota's University Town Center (UTC) will soon have more shopping options, with two retailers opening this summer and several existing stores reopening after updates.
Florida’s first James Avery Artisan Jewelry store is set to open later this summer, according to a press release. The store will offer jewelry for men and women in sterling silver, 14K and 18K gold, as well as gemstones and leather wallets. All jewelry at the store is designed by artisans in Kerrville, Texas.
The store will be located on UTC’s upper level near Dillard's.
JD Sports is also set to open in late summer or early fall. The retailer sells athletic footwear, apparel and accessories from brands including Nike, adidas, Jordan, Champion, Vans and The North Face,
along with its own private-label brands.

National chocolatier opens first Sarasota shop at UTC
Bissinger's Handcrafted Chocolatier celebrated its grand opening July 23-24. The candy shop offers a full collection of handcrafted chocolates, including signature truffles, caramels, chocolate-covered fruits and nuts, seasonal specialties and gift assortments.
The store is located at 40 University Town Center Drive on the main level outside Saks Fifth Avenue and across from the Apple Store.
The UTC location marks the company’s fourth Florida store. The shop offers a full collection of handcrafted chocolates, including signature truffles, caramels, chocolate-covered fruits and nuts, seasonal specialties and gift assortments.
Existing UTC stores reopen after remodels
Three existing UTC retailers have also reopened after remodels or relocations.
OGs Unlaced reopened in a new space in May 2026. The store sells new and used sneakers and also buys and trades shoes. It is now located on UTC’s upper level near Dillard’s.
Clothing, accessories and personal care store American Eagle reopened in a remodeled and expanded space. The retailer sells jeans, graphic T-shirts, outerwear, swimwear, footwear and accessories.
The store is on the lower level across from H&M.
American Eagle’s sister brand Aerie also reopened in a remodeled and expanded space. The store specializes in bras, underwear and other apparel. It is located on the lower level near Dillard’s.
