The Herald-Tribune Boys Athlete of the Week for Aug. 17-22, 2026, was Riverview High quarterback Logan Carrillo, who won the poll with 53% of the vote. Carrillo finished 11-for-13, throwing for 360 yards — Riverview's single-game passing record — and four touchdowns in Riverview's 32-21 win over Naples.
A poll will be posted at heraldtribune.com each Monday, and voting will end at 10 a.m.

The nominees for the week of Aug. 24-29, 2026 are:
Cross Country
Gabe Milliken, Sarasota Christian: Milliken finished first with a 16:33.4 time at the North Port Preserve meet on Saturday.
Football
Will Campbell, Wellen Park: Campbell finished with 97 rushing yards and one touchdown, including the team's final score on a 5-yard run in Wellen Park's 41-21 win over Gateway.
William Roseboro Jr., Saint Stephen's: In a 35-32 loss to Sarasota Christian, Roseboro rushed for 201 yards and three touchdowns, including an 86-yard dash to the end zone.
Noah Spenn, Sarasota Christian: In Sarasota Christian's 35-32 win over St. Stephen's, Spenn had three touchdowns from 10, 20 and 25 yards out.
Noah Wireman, Wellen Park: Wireman finished 10-of-17 for 195 yards. He had four touchdowns (two passing and two rushing).
Hudson West, Sarasota: In a narrow loss to Palm Beach Lakes, West had seven touchdowns. He went 19-of-38 for 409 yards with four passing touchdowns, with his longest completion being 73 yards. He also had three rushing scores from 32, 3 and 11 yards out.
Caedon White, Manatee: White led Manatee's offense with 20 carries for 97 yards and three touchdowns — a career-high — in a 28-17 win over Naples.
Tait Zeltwanger, Sarasota Christian: Zeltwanger scored the touchdown that led Sarasota Christian to a 35-32 win over Saint Stephen's. He completed 11 of his 22 passes for 132 yards and three touchdowns, adding five carries for 54 yards.
Golf
Jake Autrey, Lakewood Ranch: Autrey shot a 34 — the lowest of the field — in a three-way matchup aginst Manatee and North Port, where the Mustangs took the win by seven strokes.
Andi Dai, Saint Stephen's: Dai shot a 64 in an 18-hole matchup against Sarasota, helping the Falcons to a 278-308 win. He had six birdies and an eagle, shooting six under.
