Sarasota County firefighters responded to a fire at Brick’s Smoked Meats at 1528 State St. in downtown Sarasota on Tuesday morning, prompting a road closure.
State Street was closed between Orange and Lemon avenues as crews worked the fire, according to a traffic alert issued at 8:15 a.m. Oct. 6.
No injuries were reported. Drivers were asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
At 10:45 a.m., firefighters were still entering and leaving the restaurant, which was cordoned off with yellow police tape.
