There are only two weeks left of the high school volleyball season, and there's been some changes in the top 10 rankings.
Riverview remains at the top, while both Venice and Cardinal Mooney have moved up. Bradenton Christian and Sarasota have dropped after losing to area teams. Lakewood Ranch, Parrish Community, ODA, Saint Stephen's and Braden River have remained in its same spots.
Here are the volleyball rankings through Week 5:
Matches played through Sunday, Sept. 27.
1. Riverview (14-6)
Last week: Defeated Port Charlotte 3-0, Weeki Wachee 2-0 and Strawberry Crest 2-0. Lost to Sunlake 2-1, Northside Christian 2-0 and Berkeley Prep 2-0.
Analysis: The Rams lost three matches at the Warrior Invitational in Clearwater, but they are still dominating locally. Riverview
swept Port Charlotte for the second time this season, while picking up tournament wins against Weeki Wachee and Strawberry Crest.
2. Venice (11-5)
Last week: Defeated Bradenton Christian 3-1 and Tampa Prep 3-2.
Analysis: Venice picked up a huge win against Bradenton Christian, defeating the Panthers 3-1. Sophomore Kinsey Judge leads with 144 kills, while junior Ana Julia Villamajor has a team-high 26 aces and 183 digs. Junior Beckett Hammers has 282 assists while senior Amelia Anselmi has 261.
3. Cardinal Mooney (12-6)
Last week: Defeated Tampa Bay HEAT 3-0.
Analysis: In their sole game last week, the Cougars swept the HEAT. Senior Charlee Hermann has a team-high 144 kills, while sophomore Reece McLoughlin leads with 64 digs. Junior Kiana Gilmour has 171 assists.
4. Bradenton Christian (13-8)
Last week: Lost to Venice 3-1. Defeated Charlotte 3-1.
Analysis: Bradenton Christian fell to Venice 3-1 at home, while picking up a solid win over a 12-4 Charlotte team, who is ranked 53rd in Florida.
5. Sarasota (10-9)
Last week: Lost to Lakewood Ranch 3-1.
Analysis: After defeating Lakewood Ranch 2-0 on Sept. 19, the Sailors fell to Lakewood Ranch on the road. Senior Liza Collier leads with 126 kills and 31 aces. Senior Sydney Mullen has a team-best 152 digs and sophomore Hailey Lane has 185 assists. Sophomore Celia Collier also has 180 assists.
6. Lakewood Ranch (12-8)
Last week: Defeated Sarasota 3-1 and Hardee 3-1.
Analysis: After losing three straight matches at a tournament, Lakewood Ranch won its last two handedly. The Mustangs are currently 2-2 in district play.
7. Parrish Community (14-6)
Last week: Defeated Lemon Bay 3-1 and Palmetto 3-0.
Analysis: Parrish is on a five-game winning streak since Sept. 19, picking up wins against Lemon Bay and Palmetto in Week 5. The Bulls have only dropped one set in the last five matches.
8. Out-of-Door Academy (13-8)
Last week: Defeated Imagine School at North Port 3-0. Lost to Shorecrest Prep 3-0.
Analysis: ODA went 1-1 last week, sweeping one team and being swept by another. Sophomore Alex Beasley leads with 168 kills and 48 aces.
9. Saint Stephen's (7-9)
Last week: Lost to Tampa Catholic 3-0 and Lakewood Ranch Prep 3-2.
Analysis: Saint Stephen's is on a three-game losing streak, dropping matches against Tampa Catholic and Lakewood Ranch Prep. Junior Olivia Ierulli leads with 139 kills. Senior Karlah Benzan has 127 digs and junior Madyson Boling has 241 assists.
10. Braden River (6-7)
Last week: Defeated Manatee 3-0.
Analysis: In its only match last week, Braden River swept Manatee 3-0 at home.
