Help select 'Six to Save' sites
The Colson Hotel.
The Mira Mar Plaza.
Warm Mineral Springs.

These are just some of the historic resources that the Sarasota Alliance for Historic Preservation has helped to preserve.
All of these sites were on our annual Six to Save list, which highlights historic assets at risk in our community.
The Six to Save list helps to mobilize efforts to protect these resources.
Among the tools in our toolbox are creative collaboration with property owners, advocacy with elected officials and expert technical advice.
Right now, for example, we are working to prevent the demolition of the Blackburn Point Swing Bridge to Casey Key and the U.S. Garage building in downtown Sarasota.
Both of these sites were featured on our 2025 Six to Save list.
You can help us identify
this year's Six to Save sites.
We are accepting nominations for historic Sarasota County properties – public or private, buildings or infrastructure – until Sept. 15.
