The Herald-Tribune recently unveiled The Elite 11, Sarasota-Manatee counties' top volleyball players entering the 2026 season. The selections were determined by past performances and expectations for this season. Then we asked who you thought was the No. 1 volleyball player in the Sarasota-Manatee county area.
Congratulations go to Venice High senior Amelia Anselmi for winning the poll with 55% of the votes. Anselmi is a 5-foot-9 setter entering her senior season. In 2025, Anselmi helped Venice to a 16-13 record, notching 836 assists, 158 digs, 35 aces and 19 kills in 93 sets. She also added six blocks.
