A portion of Highway 126 in Santa Paula is scheduled to close in both directions starting Oct. 2, causing delays for weekend travelers.
The highway will be closed from 8 p.m. Oct. 2 to 9 a.m. Oct. 3 from 10th Street to Hallock Drive, according to a city news release.
The full closure is part of a highway construction project, city officials said.
Eastbound highway drivers will exit at 10th Street and continue on Harvard Boulevard and Telegraph Road and reenter at Hallock Drive. Westbound drivers will exit at Hallock Drive and continue west on Telegraph Road before reentering on Palm Avenue.
The diversion will also affect traffic signals at the intersections of Harvard Boulevard and 10th Street, Hallock and Telegraph and Hallock and Highway 126.
The lights will be flashing red, and drivers should treat them as four-way stops.
The Santa Paula Police Department will assist with monitoring traffic.
