Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found near the Camarillo train station Aug. 24.
Ventura County Sheriff's deputies responded to the station at 30 S. Lewis Road around 11:15 p.m. after a person walking along the tracks reported finding a body, said Capt. Mike McConville. The sheriff’s office is contracted to provide police services for the city of Camarillo.
Investigators confirmed that the person found along the tracks was deceased and had been dead for some time, McConville said.
Detectives believe that the man had been hit by a train at some time during the day but could not immediately say when, the captain said.
