The Pacific View Mall, an 884,000-square-foot shopping center in midtown Ventura, has new owners.
Pacific Retail Capital Partners and Conversant Capital LLC have acquired the mall, according to a Sept. 21 news release. The deal closed on Sept. 17, said spokesperson Kerri Harper in an email. No financial details were released.
As part of the transaction, Pacific Retail Capital Partners, a Los Angeles retail real estate development firm, will assume leasing and management responsibilities.

“The property has served the Ventura community for more than six decades, and we look forward to continuing to build on its strong foundation alongside our new partner,” said Steve Plenge, Pacific Retail CEO and founder, in a statement.
Santa Monica-based real estate
investment trust The Macerich Co. previously owned the mall, acquiring the property in 1996. In late 2024, Macerich acquired The Oaks mall in Thousand Oaks for $157 million.
The two-level, enclosed Pacific View Mall at 3301-1 E. Main St. opened in 1964 and was last renovated in 2017, according to the release.
The acquisition represents an attractive opportunity, said Conversant principal Tobias Milligan in a statement. The Summit, New Jersey-based company is a capital provider.
Anchor stores at Pacific View Mall include Target, Macy’s and JCPenney. The mall also features more than 130 national retailers, including Sephora, Ross, Victoria’s Secret, Trader Joe’s and 24 Hour Fitness.
Last year, a new bowling and arcade business based in Japan started renovations of the mall's former Sears location. Round1 Bowling & Arcade started work on the Ventura site, but has not announced an opening date.
