Authorities identified the man who died in a fiery crash on Harbor Boulevard in Ventura early Sept. 6.
Leonardo Garcia, 19, was from Oxnard, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office. He died of multiple blunt-force injuries and his death was ruled an accident.
Garcia was driving at a high rate of speed on Harbor Boulevard in Ventura around 3:50 a.m., the Ventura Police Department previously reported.
He crashed into a cluster of palm trees just south of Olivas Park Drive, causing his vehicle to erupt in flames, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His brother, Javier Garcia, created a GoFundMe in hopes of raising money to help with the costs of transporting his body back to his hometown of San Martín Peras, Oaxaca,
Mexico, according to the fundraising page.
As of Oct. 2, the page had raised $9,601 of its $10,000 goal.
