A brief pursuit in Camarillo Aug. 15 ended in a multi-vehicle crash and an arrest.
A Camarillo deputy spotted a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash around 9:20 p.m. in the 400 block of Daily Drive, according to Ventura County Sheriff's Capt. Mike McConville. The city of Camarillo contracts its police services with the sheriff's office.
It was not immediately clear where the original crash happened.
The pursuit ended on Calle La Roda when the driver hit four parked vehicles, flattening four tires on his own vehicle and disabling it, McConville said. The 24-year-old driver fled on foot but was quickly taken into custody by Camarillo deputies.
The driver was arrested and booked into Ventura County jail on suspicion of felonies for leaving the scene of an accident,
DUI with alcohol and evading an officer and misdemeanors that include hit-and-run driving, reckless driving and unlicensed driving, according to jail records.
He is being held on $150,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court Aug. 18, jail records show.
McConville said he believed all car owners affected by the crash had been contacted by deputies.
