An Oxnard man was arrested Sept. 9 after a series of shootings between late July and early September at a home on Gina Drive.
The Oxnard Police Department started investigating the man and the residence in the 1500 block of Gina Drive in late July although it was not clear what brought out police, according to a department news release.
In mid-August police responded to a shots-fired call in front of the residence and located several shell casings, police said.
On Sept. 8, a 17-year-old who lived at the home showed up at St. John’s Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg, police said.
The following day, several police units, including the department’s SWAT team, conducted a warranted search of the home, seized nine guns and arrested the man. The home is
in the Cabrillo neighborhood in northwest Oxnard.
The man was arrested and booked into Ventura County jail on suspicion of felonies for first-degree criminal storage of a firearm, child abuse, unlawful transfer of a firearm and carrying a loaded firearm on one's person. He also faces a misdemeanor charge for transfer or possession of a firearm with serial numbers altered or removed.
The man's bail is set at $50,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on Sept. 11, records show.
