An Oxnard woman died Sept. 4 after what appeared to be a fall from her electric scooter.
On Sept. 4 shortly before 6 p.m., Oxnard Police Department officers responded with emergency medical services personnel to assist a woman lying on the ground on Rhodea Way, according to a department news release.
The location is a residential area east of St. John's Regional Medical Center.
Officers found the 57-year-old woman from Oxnard lying on a walkway with an e-scooter a few feet away from her, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was not wearing a helmet, said Cpl. Joseph Clarke of the department.
An initial investigation found that the woman appeared fall from the e-scooter while riding it, causing significant injuries, officials said.
