A Simi Valley man was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run on Sept. 2 for a crash that left a Camarillo man dead nearly two months earlier.
The 70-year-old Simi man allegedly fled the scene of a June 7 crash on Santa Rosa Roadthat killed 30-year-old Steven Michael Monzon of Camarillo, according to California Highway Patrol officials.
The area is in the Santa Rosa Valley just outside of Camarillo.
The crash occurred around 10:50 p.m. on Santa Rosa near Gerry Road, CHP officials said.
The CHP received a call that a man was reportedly wearing all black clothing and walking in the middle of the road, officials said. Minutes later, they received another call that the man, later identified as Monzon, had been struck by a vehicle.

had called on the community to help locate the driver who struck and killed Steven.
Lt. Randy O’Brien of the CHP's Moorpark-area office credited the community with helping with the arrest in a news release, saying, “This arrest reflects the dedication of our investigators and the valuable assistance from community members."
The Simi Valley man was booked into Ventura County jail, but was released on $50,000 bond on Sept. 3, jail records show. He is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on Sept. 17.
