Authorities determined the cause and manner of death of a man who died in the hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Oxnard on Sept. 3
Sergio Martinez, 52, was from Oxnard, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office. He died of blunt-force torso injuries, and his death was ruled an accident.
Martinez was driving through an industrial park in his Toyota and allegedly entered Fifth Street without yielding to a Dodge driving westbound on Fifth Street, the Oxnard Police Department previously said.
Martinez was arrested after police said he showed signs of impairment of drugs, alcohol or both and was taken to the hospital.
While at the hospital, he complained of pain and became unresponsive, police said. He was pronounced dead early
Sept. 4.
