A Santa Paula man was charged with felonies for second-degree burglary and vandalism over $400 in Ventura County Superior Court on Oct. 1 for allegedly damaging a garage days earlier.
The 30-year-old did not enter a plea, court records show.
Deputies with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of vandalism at a property in the 15000 block of South Mountain Road just outside Santa Paula around 4:37 p.m. on Sept. 29, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
The sheriff’s office provides police services to unincorporated areas of Ventura County.
Deputies contacted the man in the detached garage of the property, where he did not have permission to be, the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators found that the Santa Paula man caused
thousands of dollars in damage, sheriff’s officials said.
He was arrested and booked into Ventura County jail with bail set at $10,000, jail records show. He is scheduled to return to court on Oct. 22.
Court records show that the man had pleaded guilty to misdemeanor vandalism on Sept. 15 for a separate incident.
