An Oxnard man was convicted in Ventura County Superior Court on Sept. 30 of attempting to steal ownership of a $4.8 million home by filing forged documents to get on a deed.
Khambray Antoine Holloway, 34, was found guilty by a jury of felony filing a false or forged document, according to a Ventura County District Attorney’s Office news release.
Holloway filed a false and notarized deed to the Ventura County Recorder’s Office in July 2025 to establish himself as the owner of a residence in Oxnard Shores, DA’s officials said. The documents contained irregularities, including a lack of signature from a grantor.
The man also allegedly continued to claim ownership of the home and returned to it on multiple occasions, contacting locksmiths to change
the locks at least twice, DA officials said.
Investigators confirmed that the home was owned by an LLC, which did not authorize the transfer or claim of ownership of the property to Holloway, the DA’s office said.
Holloway was originally arrested on Feb. 22. After his conviction, he was returned to Ventura County jail with bail set at $20,000, records show. He is scheduled for sentencing Oct. 28.
