Crews have responded to a brush fire burning near Yerba Buena Road southwest of Circle X Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains.
The Yerba Fire reported shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 17 was burning near Mipolomol Road and Yerba Buena, on the southeastern edge of Ventura County. The fire had burned an estimated 2 acres as of 10 p.m., according to radio traffic.
Authorities issued an evacuation warning for areas along Yerba Buena and Deer Creek roads. A warning generally means the threat is not yet imminent.
Firefighters had responded on the ground and by air. Shortly before 10:30 p.m., officials reported that crews had stopped the fire's forward progress.
