Oxnard police were working to remove a barricaded man, believed to have a knife, from vehicle he does not own Sept. 14.
Officers with the Oxnard Police Department were called to the area of C and Hill streets around 1:30 p.m. about a suspicious person possibly in possession of knives, said Cmdr. Kevin Baysinger. The area is the Kamala Park neighborhood.
Police described the incident as an active investigation with the closure of C Street between Hill and Birch streets, officials said in a news release.
Baysinger said around 4:30 p.m. that the man was in a vehicle that isn't his.
Members of the department's SWAT team as well as crisis negotiators with the department and Ventura County responded, he said. The police department was also using its drones
to assist with the resolutiion.
