Ventura police are investigating a stabbing Aug. 24 on the city's west side.
Officers with the Ventura Police Department responded to a stabbing victim around 10:15 a.m. in the 200 block of North Ventura Avenue, police said in a news release. The area is a few blocks north of the Vons shopping center.
A 58-year-old Oxnard man was found suffering life-threatening injuries, police said. The victim was taken to Ventura County Medical Center where he was in stable condition.
Police said the suspect and victim know each other. As a result, police said they believe there is no threat to the community.
Sgt. Fabian Gutierrez said by phone that no arrests had been made as of 5:30 p.m. Investigators are trying to determine what happened prior to the stabbing.
