A Ventura chiropractor was sentenced Aug. 14 to six years in state prison for sexually assaulting his patients, according to Ventura County Superior Court records.A jury previously found Fernando Juarez Gomez Jr., a 45-year-old Oxnard resident, guilty of five counts of felony sexual battery involving four different female victims, according to court records. Records indicate he also pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor battery against a fifth victim, while four additional counts of felony sexual battery were dismissed.
Officers arrested Gomez on March 21, 2024, at Limitless Functional Therapy, the now-closed business he owned on Westinghouse Street after two patients reported misconduct during their chiropractic appointments, according
to the Ventura Police Department. Additional victims came forward with allegations after the arrest.
Prosecutors said that between 2022 and 2024, Gomez inappropriately touched female patients in areas that were unrelated to legitimate treatment.
“The defendant told these young women that his methods would eliminate their pain and help them achieve their athletic goals,” Senior Deputy District Attorney Twyla Atmore said in a news release. “Instead, he touched the most intimate parts of their bodies for his own sexual gratification under the guise of therapeutic treatment."
