A man was arrested Oct. 7 three months after he allegedly hid for hours in an adult daycare center in Oxnard and later burglarized it.
Investigators with the Oxnard Police Department found that the 34-year-old Oxnard man entered the center requesting a job application in July and asked to use the restroom, according to a department news release.
Instead of using the restroom, the man allegedly snuck into the kitchen area and hid in a pantry for five hours, police said.
He then waited for the center to close and employees to leave before exiting the pantry and burglarizing the business, officials said. The burglary was caught on surveillance videos.
The Oxnard man was booked into Ventura County jail on suspicion of felony burglary and misdemeanor
petty theft with bail set at $50,000, jail records show. He has a history of previous theft-related crimes, police said.
He is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on Oct. 9.
