A recent study ranked some of the largest U.S. cities by how accommodating they are to coffee lovers, with three California towns ranked among the top 10.
WalletHub, a financial site, looked at several factors among the 100 most populous cities in the country to see which coffee scene is best.
Coffee has become an increasingly popular go-to drink among Americans, with 66% saying they drink it daily, according to aNational Coffee Association survey. Specialty drinks from large coffee chains such as Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, and Dutch Bros., along with their viral appeal, have increased the popularity of the drink and the different ways people can enjoy it.
WalletHub looked at 12 indicators in their study, including coffee shops, houses and cafes
per capita, affordability of those shops, average price of a pack of coffee and the share of households that own their own coffee maker.
The study weighed and added up those key metrics per city and ranked the cities by overall points.

Orlando, Florida, ranked No. 1 overall as the best city for coffee lovers, with coffee-drinking households spending about $154 on average each year. The city also had plenty of coffee shops rated 4.5 stars or higher out of 5, WalletHub said.
Long Beach made the top five at No. 4. California cities San Francisco and Oakland also made the top 10 at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively.
By average coffee spending per household, California dominated the list, with four cities in the state tying for the No. 1 spot with a Washington city. Fremont, San Francisco, San Jose, Irvine, and Seattle, Washington, all tied for first in spending.
