A youth was transported to the hospital following a shooting in Oxnard on Aug. 12.
Officers with the Oxnard Police Department responded to the 2600 block of Wagon Wheel Drive around 9:06 p.m. and found a boy suffering from a gunshot wound, said Cmdr. Jose Velazquez. The area is the Wagon Wheel neighborhood in the northern part of the city.
The boy was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, Velazquez said.
The shooter had fled the area before police arrived, and no arrests have been made, the commander said.
