A 29-year-old Santa Paula man was arrested on suspicion of two felony counts of murder on Oct. 2 for his involvement in the Oxnard crash that left two people dead and several others injured.
David Mora
turned himself in to the Oxnard Police Department around 8 p.m. for his involvement in the Sept. 25 crash at the intersection of Victoria and Doris avenues, according to a department news release.
Mora was driving a 2018 GMC Sierra northbound on Victoria Avenue when he ran a red light at Doris Avenue, crashing into a 2005 Honda Civic and a 1998 Toyota Avalon, police said.
The collisions caused a chain of crashes involving at least five other vehicles. The Honda and Toyota drivers, both men aged 31 and 58, were pronounced dead at the scene, police officials said. Four others sustained minor injuries.
Mora was booked into Ventura County jail with bail set at $5 million, jail records show. He is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on Oct. 6.
