A 33-year-old man was arrested on Aug. 20 on suspicion of attempted murder in an attack on his mother in Santa Paula.
Officers with the Santa Paula Police Department responded to the 18000 block of East Telegraph Road shortly before 11 a.m. in response to the attack, said police Chief Don Aguilar.
Police found a woman in her 60s suffering from major head injuries and took her to a local hospital, Aguilar said. The person who attacked her fled before police arrived.
Investigators suspected her 33-year-old son may have used a blunt force object to attack her, the chief said.
The son was located in Santa Barbara County hours later and arrested on suspicion of felony attempted murder, Aguilar said.
The man was booked into Ventura County jail with bail
set at $2 million, the chief said. His court information was not available.
