Burger enthusiasts in Camarillo will have to look elsewhere for their animal-style fix this month.
The In-N-Out Burger at 1316 Ventura Blvd. in Camarillo has been closed since Aug. 17 for a parking lot expansion project that will increase both on-site parking and the number of cars that can queue in the drive-thru line, according to the city.

In an Aug.14 Facebook post, Camarillo announced that the business could reopen as early as the end of September or early October. That is a substantially earlier reopening date than the Oct. 27 estimate in an earlier post.
The first phase of the project began in early July, with workers grading the existing dirt overflow lot on the property. The restaurant remained open for business during that time.

Fencing
now runs along the perimeter of the restaurant for the second phase, which includes the installation of a new trash enclosure, more parking lot lighting and final paving and restriping of the lot.
A sandwich board sign just inside the fenced-off area at the restaurant Aug. 19 listed the addresses of three nearby In-N-Out locations for burger fans at 1700 E. Ventura Blvd. in Oxnard, 381 W. Esplanade Drive in Oxnard and 1550 Newbury Road in Newbury Park.
