The Ventura County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a person found Oct. 20 at the lot of Camarillo's soon-to-open Costco.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the property at 431 W. Ventura Blvd. around 8:37 p.m. and found a body, said Capt. Jason Karol.

Sheriff's detectives and the Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office personnel responded to investigate the death, Karol said. No additional information about the death was immediately available.

The Costco location is set to open on Oct. 30.

The gas station on the same lot opened on May 1 when crews began work on the warehouse.
