A Resada woman was sentenced to 15 years to life in state prison Sept. 1 for second-degree murder for selling fatal doses of fentanyl to a Simi Valley man who died of an overdose, according to authorities.
Charity Faith Wiley, 40, pleaded guilty July 6 to second-degree murder and multiple felony and special allegation charges including drug possession, sales activity, gun possession and money laundering, according to a Ventura County District Attorney's Office news release.
Wiley was arrested at her home March 5, 2025 by a Ventura County crimes unit and Simi Valley police after an investigation involving the June 6, 2024 death of a 28-year-old Simi man. Medical examiner reports said the man died of a mixture of fentanyl and xylazine. Ventura County District
Attorney's Office prosecutors said Wiley sold the man the mixture of drugs.
The guilty plea come after an investigation by the Ventura County Fentanyl and Overdose Crimes Units and a special investigations unit from the Simi Valley Police Department.
Simi Valley police investigated Wiley in 2022 and arrested her on suspicion of narcotics sales, firearms charges and conspiracy. According to the DA's office, police seized fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, three handguns and nearly $100,000 from residences and storage units in Los Angeles County.
