A woman is being investigated for the death of a male neighbor in Camarillo on Aug. 6, according to authorities.
At about 8:09 p.m., Ventura County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of a 78-year-old man not breathing in the 900 block of Calabria Court, according to a sheriff's office news release.
The Ventura County Fire Department and emergency personnel tried to help the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
An initial investigation found there was a dispute between the man and a 69-year-old female neighbor just before the call for service, the sheriff's office said.
Investigators then learned the neighbor's actions may have caused the 78-year-old man to "fall to the ground," the release says.
The man's death
is being investigated as a potential homicide, officials said.
Anyone with information on the incident should contact Detective Nathaniel Rushing at 805-384-4722.
