It's election season, and organizations across Ventura County have planned candidate forums in coming days for local races on the Nov. 3 ballot.
The non-partisan League of Women Voters, area chambers of commerce and other groups will host free, in-person events and provide video either livestreamed or on their websites afterward. Most forums focus on city races, but some will host candidates for school board, county office, state Assembly and Congress.
Videos of forums planned by the League of Women Voters will be available within a few days of the events at LwvVenturaCounty.org. For more event details, see the listings below.
Candidate forums across Ventura County
Sept. 16 in Port Hueneme: 6-7:30 p.m. for City Council candidates at Port Hueneme City Council Chambers, 250 N. Ventura
Road. Event is co-hosted by League of Women Voters of Ventura County and Ventura County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Sept. 17 in Thousand Oaks: 6-8 p.m. for Ventura County Community College District Area 2 and Thousand Oaks City Council Districts 1, 2 and 3. Sept. 25 in Moorpark: 5:30–6:15 p.m. Congressional District 26, 6:30–7:10 p.m. City Council District 1 and 7:20–8 p.m. Moorpark Unified School District School Board Area 1 at Moorpark High Street Arts Center, 45 E.
