A organic grocery chain known for selling a single strawberry for nearly $20 announced Aug. 17 the opening date of its first Ventura County location.
Erewhon posted on social media that its Thousand Oaks location would officially open on Aug. 26. Signs announcing the store at The Lakes shopping center at 2150 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. went up last summer.
The store's grand opening will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and its regular store hours are 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., the social media post shows.
The store is the chain's 14th location and the first outside of Los Angeles County, the website says.

What is Erewhon?
The grocery chain started as a natural foods market in Boston in the 1960s by Aveline and Michio Kushi, according to its official website. The name of the store
comes from the Samuel Butler book by the same name, which itself is nearly an anagram for nowhere.
The store later moved to Los Angeles and has since expanded to several stores in Los Angeles County with more planned for the future.
The chain is known for its organic and health-conscious products and smoothies, even collaborating with celebrities such as Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo and Sydney Sweeney for their own custom smoothies.
"We pride ourselves on being a platform for farms and brands based in Southern California," the website says. "That allows us to support small businesses, feed the local economy and reduce emissions with shorter transportation distances."
