Ventura police are investigating an early morning stabbing Aug. 30 just outside downtown.
Officers with the Ventura Police Department were called at 1:37 a.m. on a report of a stabbing south of Main Street near the intersection with Chestnut Street, according to Cmdr. Trenner Marchetti. The area is across from Plaza Park and near a hotel.
Police found two men with signficant stab wounds although their injuries were not believed to be life threatening, Marchetti said.
The victims were taken to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment, police later said in a news release.
Investigators are trying to determine what happened but no arrests had been made as of 2 p.m., the commander said.
The stabbings were the third such incident in about a week in Ventura.
A Camarillo man suffered non-life threatening stab wounds after a dispute on the Ventura Pier Aug. 25. A 58-year-old Oxnard man was found on the Ventura's west side suffering life-threatening stabbing injuries Aug. 24.
