The undefeated Ferris State University women's volleyball team is ranked No. 1 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II poll, which was released on Monday, Sept. 7.
The rankings come after the Bulldogs climbed four sports after a 4-0 record this past holiday weekend at the Colorado Premier Challenge tournament in Denver.
Ferris State is 8-0 this year. It is the sixth time in school history in which FSU has been ranked No. 1.
The last time the Bulldogs were ranked No. 1 was Nov. 25, 2026.
On Saturday, Sept. 5, Ferris State first topped Wayne State College Nebraska by a 3-0 score before also beating Angelo State University in the tournament final.
"In this week's poll, the Bulldogs received 36 of a possible 46 first-place votes
and tallied 1,152 total points in moving up from fifth nationally last week," a news release from the university's athletic department reads.
Ferris State will play next at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on the road at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at Roosevelt University in Chicago.
