Lamborghini is an Italian automaker known for making flashy cars that are very colorful and loud. Their newest model being added to the lineup carries the company's flair but not in the vehicle type you would expect.
Lamborghini is coming out withits second baby stroller alongside British luxury stroller brand Silver Cross, the automaker announced Aug. 27 in a news release.
The Reef Al Giallo starts at $4,999.99 and there will be only 500 of them for sale worldwide. The stroller uses high quality materials that you would find in a Lamborghini vehicle like premium leather, high-gloss polycarbonate and performance suede. The Al Giallo follows the two companies' earlier stroller collaboration, the Reef Al Arancio.
Why is a car company making a baby stroller?
Lamborghini is a brand that only
made two-door coupes for many decades so making a stroller wouldn’t have made sense in the past. Where would you put a car seat?
With their most successful modern vehicle being the four-door Urus SUV, they now have a vehicle that families can actually fit a stroller into. In announcing the second stroller, the company said the move is to extend "the brand's design vision beyond the automotive world."
What makes the stroller special?
Silver Cross is a brand based in North Yorkshire, England, that specializes in high-end strollers, cribs, high chairs and other baby-related necessities.
Its Silver Cross Reef 2 stroller can support a child from newborn up to 55 pounds. Prices for these strollers range from $1,199.99 to $1,599.99.
The Reef Al Giallo stroller, designed with Lamborghini, features the same weight standards but is painted in black with yellow accents, and Lamborghini badges can be found all around.
The Lamborghini version also shares many top-notch features of the Silver Cross Reef 2: It can be used as a car seat, a stroller or a bassinet. The new model also features the Reef 2's full-coverage hood, UPF50+ sun protection, a reversible seat, magnetic buckle and a universal car seat adapter as standard options. The stroller also can be folded for easy storage in the car or at home.
Where will this stroller be sold?
For those who would be interested in purchasing the new "super stroller," the Reef Al Giallo can be found on the Silver Cross US website. That base price of about $5,000 may sound insane to the average person but likely won’t hurt the pockets of the average Lamborghini customer.
