Longtime Detroit Lions play-by-play announcer Dan Miller is not in the radio booth for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals after the passing of his wife, Cindy. She was 63.
Jason Benetti is filling in for Miller on the radio broadcast.
"We are without a very important member of this crew for the worst possible reason," Benetti said on the pregame show. "Our thoughts are with Dan right now, all weekend and for the future with the loss of his wife Cindy, a couple of days ago. ...
"One of the most sincere human beings you can possibly dream of, a fantastic voice of the Lions for more than two decades, and its very hard to have him be at home under these circumstances."

Miller, the sports director at WJBK-TV Fox 2, has been the Lions’ radio
voice since 2005 and a fixture on Detroit TV since 1997.
He started his broadcast career in Washington DC and did NFL Europe games for Fox before joining the Lions’ radio crew.
Benetti has been the television play-by-play voice of the Detroit Tigers since 2024 and joined NBC's "Sunday Night Baseball" coverage as play-by-play announcer this fall. He handled two Lions television broadcasts this preseason.
The Millers have four children, Sammi, Rikki, Tony and Robbie.
