It's time to vote for the Detroit Free Press Boys Athlete of the Week.
This week's poll includes six football players who had standout performances during the week of Oct. 5-11.
Voting will close at noon on Friday, Oct. 16.
Here are the nominees (listed in alphabetical order by last name):
Kurt Briolat, Ortonville Brandon
Briolat powered Brandon's offense during the team's 48-20 win against Owosso on Friday, Oct. 9. The senior rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. He also had six receptions for 114 yards and two additional touchdowns.
Easton Danoksy, Allen Park
Allen Park extended its winning streak to five straight after defeating Wyandotte Roosevelt, 35-20. Easton Danoksy, the Jaguars' senior quarterback,
went 13-for-17 in passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 53 yards and one touchdown on three carries.
Dante Darling, Novi
Darling set a school record despite Novi coming up short in a 55-30 loss to Plymouth. Darling recorded a new school record of 235 receiving yards on seven catches and had three touchdowns in the game.
Jacob Patton, Birmingham Detroit Country Day
Patton reached the 1,000-yard milestone on the season during the team's 41-13 win against Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood. Patton finished the game with 319 yards from scrimmage – 266 rushing, 53 receiving – and five total touchdowns.
Jacob Stoyanovich, South Lyon
South Lyon's do-it-all playmaker wasted no time making an impact in his return from injury, helping power the Lions to a 21-10 victory over South Lyon East after a two-week absence. Stoyanovich scored three touchdowns after rushing for 139 yards on 16 carries.
Owen Wisniewski, Royal Oak Shrine
Wisniewski impacted both sides of the ball as Royal Oak Shrine defeated Allen Park Cabrini, 42-21. On offense, the senior had two catches for 49 yards and two touchdowns. He also scored a touchdown off a 66-yard punt return. On defense, he had five tackles, an interception and a forced fumble.
