Spaghetti isn't traditional football food.
But fans heading to Ford Field for the Detroit Lions-Green Bay Packers game on Sunday, Oct. 25 can try out food items from famed rapper Eminem's Mom's Spaghetti, which has opened its first outpost beyond its downtown Detroit alleyway take-out window. Mom’s Spaghetti announced the location via Instagram on Oct. 23, as did Ford Field on Oct. 24.
Curt Catallo, owner of Union Joints restaurant group, said the group partnered with Eminem and Paul Rosenberg to bring Mom’s Spaghetti to its Union Assembly restaurant in downtown Detroit. At Union Assembly, the take-out window restaurant opened in 2021.
“It’s [at Ford Field] for the long haul and we are excited about it,” Catallo said. "It’s the first permanent
location beyond the alleyway. For us, it’s a fun way to get some s’ghetti in the hands of people who like football.”
At Ford Field, you’ll find Mom’s Spaghetti in section 127 near the 50-yard line on the visitors' side. Catallo said the menu includes classic Mom’s spaghetti, spaghetti with balls and the S’ghetti sandwich.
“The s’ghetti sandwich is served Marshall-style with marinara to dip in,” Catallo said.
Pricing wasn't available.
At the restaurant, the s'ghetti sandwich is spaghetti with sauce between two pieces of garlic toast. And its classic spaghetti comes in a convenient take-out container.
Mom's Spaghetti is also heading overseas.
Catallo said a Mom’s Spaghetti pop-up will be in Munich, Germany, for a few days ahead of the Nov. 15 international game between the Lions vs. New England Patriots.
Mom's Spaghetti first launched as a pop-up in 2017 at The Shelter in Detroit. It was part of Eminem's release of “Revival.”
At Union Assembly, Mom’s Spaghetti also features “The Trailer,” a retail space above the take-out window. It’s a nod to B. Rabbit's trailer from the 2002 film "8 Mile." Inside is Mom's Spaghetti merch for sale, along with items from Eminem's retail collection, including limited editions and memorabilia from Eminem's archives.
Union Joints also owns longstanding suburban restaurant hotspots Clarkston Union, Union Woodshop and Vinsetta Garage. Catallo said at Ford Field you’ll also find food options from the group’s Bunkhouse Burgers and Honcho restaurant.
