The most-anticipated series of the Detroit Tigers' season is coming up.
The Tigers begin a three-game weekend series against the two-time defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers, with Game 1 scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28, at Comerica Park in Detroit. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on Detroit SportsNet (with streaming available on Fubo).
The first game of the series may also be the biggest of the regular season for Detroit, with the Dodgers starting lefty ace Tarik Skubal against the Tigers in his return to Comerica Park. The Tigers traded the back-to-back American League Cy Young Award winner to the Dodgers on Aug. 1 in exchange for three prospects, with Skubal set to pitch his first game at
Comerica Park in a visitor's uniform.

The series is also an important one competitively for the Tigers, who have lost 10 of their past 12 games and have fallen to a distant fourth place in the AL Central standings, eight games behind the first-place Chicago White Sox. The Tigers are not mathematically out of the playoff race, but with FanGraphs giving them a 2.4% to make the playoffs as of Thursday night, the Tigers really can't afford to lose any more series' – even to a first-place team.
