Ahead of a showdown at Waldo Stadium in Kalamazoo on Saturday, Sept. 23, Boise State head football coach Spencer Danielson says Western Michigan is an undefeated football team, even with a 2-1 record.
"I saw a little bit of what happened with the Michigan-Western Michigan game early on," Danielson said. "When I went back and studied this, unbelievable. They're an undefeated football team, period. End of story."
The controversy over Michigan's victory began when the Wolverines, who were down 12-7 in the final seconds on Saturday, Sept. 5, missed a Hail Mary pass attempt as time apparently expired.

Bryce Underwood connected on a second Hail Mary try.
"You watch that game, they absolutely beat Michigan at Michigan," Danielson said. "And that's not hype. That is what happened."
The FBS Oversight Committee later issued a statementon Wednesday, Sept. 16, acknowledging that the final play should not have happened.
The outcome could not be overturned however, as officials had declared the game had ended.

The Boise State and Western square off at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in a game that will certainly carry College Football Playoff implications as both teams sit outside the top 25 rankings. The game is available on ESPN2.

Boise State enters Saturday's game 2-1 with a season-opening loss at Oregon and wins over both Memphis and South Dakota.
Additionally, Western Michigan has won two in a row, defeating Monmouth and Rice.
