The National Weather Service issued tornado warnings in Wayne and Washtenaw counties Thursday afternoon, Sept. 3, as severe thunderstorms continue to roll through southeast Michigan.

The tornado warning for northeastern Washtenaw County, including Ann Arbor, Dixboro and Ypsilanti, was issued at 3:43 p.m. and was to remain in effect until 4:15 p.m., according to the NWS.

Wayne County is under tornado warning from 3:47 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect in Wayne, Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw, Monroe, Lenawee, Livingston, and St. Clair counties until 7 p.m. Thursday evening, according to the NWS.
