Canadian officials will celebrate the Gordie Howe International Bridge at an 11:30 a.m. ceremony Friday, July 24, just days before the bridge is expected to open to the public on Monday, July 27.
Construction
of the bridge started in 2018, but the $4.7 billion (U.S.) bridge has been decades in the making and has faced delays.
The Free Press will be on hand for the invite-only event with Canadian Housing and Infrastructure Minister Gregor Robertson.
