The Lions began training camp at Meijer Performance Center in Allen Park on Wednesday, July 29, with high anticipation for what could be a bounce-back season in 2026. Following a franchise-best 15-2 regular-season record in 2024, the Lions fell below expectations in 2025, finishing with a 9-8 record and in last place in the NFC North.
But after missing the playoffs in 2025 for the first time since the 2022 season, the Lions are hoping a retooled roster can help compete for a Super Bowl in 2026. Training camp can help the team answer many roster-related questions ahead of the regular season.
While the training camp schedule for the Lions isn't as robust as it was in 2025, there are still plenty of opportunities for fans to watch their favorite
team prepare for the regular season. Here's what you need to know about Detroit's training camp schedule.
When does Lions training camp begin?
Training camp for the Lions began on Wednesday, July 29, though the first few practices are not open to the public.
The first practice in front of select fans will take place on Sunday, Aug. 2, at Meijer Performance Center in Allen Park at 8:30 a.m. ET, while the first practice available for the general public will begin on Monday, Aug. 3.

Here is when Lions fans can attend Lions training camp in 2026.
- Sunday, Aug. 2, 8:30 a.m. ET (Lions Loyal members only).
- Monday, Aug. 3, 8:30 a.m. ET.
- Tuesday, Aug. 4, 8:30 a.m. ET.
- Thursday, Aug. 6, 8:30 a.m. ET.
- Friday, Aug. 7, 10:30 a.m. ET (Lions Loyal members only).
- Monday, Aug. 10, 10:30 a.m. ET.
- Tuesday, Aug. 11, 10:30 a.m. ET (invite only).
- Sunday, Aug. 16, 10:30 a.m. ET (Lions Loyal members only).
- Monday, Aug. 17, 6 p.m. ET (Lions Loyal members only).
- Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1 p.m. ET.
Notably, the Lions will not hold a joint practice with another NFL team this year after hosting both the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins during training camp in 2025.
Lions training camp tickets
Unfortunately for those still looking to get tickets, the Lions have announced that all of their public training camp dates are sold out. Training camp tickets also don't seem to be available on official secondary markets like StubHub.
Lions training camp parking
For those of you who do have tickets, the Lions have parking information available on their website.
"Parking is free and available in select lots near the Meijer Performance Center located at 222 Republic Drive, Allen Park, MI 48101. A free shuttle ride to and from the Meijer Performance Center will be provided to fans who park in the Fairlane Circle lots. Staff will be on hand to direct visitors to available parking. Please follow the direction of staff and signs to park in the fan designated parking areas only.
Upon arrival, fans will be directed to either the Republic Drive entrance or the back gate off the Southfield Freeway (M-39 North) Service Drive. Visitors should enter the gate nearest to their parking location."
Food, drinks and activities
Lions training camp will feature several food trucks and stands that will include cold treats like ice cream and snow cones for the hot days. Additionally, camp will feature photo ops, post-practice autographs, available merchandise and select giveaways, with more details available on the Lions' site.

- Week 2, Aug. 22: vs. Washington Commanders, Noon ET, Lions TV Network.
