Many Michiganders remain without power Saturday, Sept. 5 after several rounds of storms hit the state earlier in the week, including a tornado in Detroit.
DTE reported 96,112 customers without power as of 7:30 a.m. Saturday, while Consumers Energy reported 1,699 affected customers.
DTE said early Friday that it hoped to restore power to 90% of affected customers by the end of Saturday and all customers by the end of Sunday. However, that estimate was issued before additional storms Friday caused more outages.
Repairs crews should face better working conditions Saturday, with the National Weather Service predicting a slight chance of showers before 9 a.m. followed by mostly cloudy skies that will gradually becoming sunny.
