Multiple metro Detroit residents reported waking up to find antisemitic literature in their front yards this October.
Police received multiple calls about 7 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, regarding literature with antisemitic messaging found in the small Detroit suburb of Berkley, said Berkley Police Detective Lt. Andrew Hadfield.
It is at least the third time this year, to Hadfield’s knowledge, that such an incident was reported in Berkley. Multiple other metro Detroit cities have also seen such flyers, including Huntington Woods, Oak Park and Southfield.
The Free Press sought to confirm Monday whether such literature was distributed overnight in another metro Detroit city, too.
what we paid for?
Berkley police look into any and all reports the department receives, Hadfield said. He encouraged anyone with video of the leaflets being dropped to reach out to police, along with anyone else with information.
Berkley has an ordinance that disallows people from dropping leaflets in front lawns and driveways this way,he said.
